The My Safe Florida Home Program is back for 2025! Here’s what you need to know.

f you’re a low- or moderate-income homeowner without any existing hurricane protection (shutters, panels, etc.), now is the time to submit your application. The 2025 program is first-come, first-served, and funds start flowing in August 2025.

There has been a lot of confusion surrounding how the income requirements for My Safe Florida work, using our eligibility estimator, you can quickly find out if you may be eligible for grant funding through the program.

My Safe Florida Home Program 2025 Funding Approved. Save up to $10,000 on Hurricane Protection!

What’s Changed in 2025

  • Budget cut: The state legislature trimmed the total from $500 million to $280 million.
  • Allocation:The first $100 million is reserved for homeowners who’ve already applied.
  • Eligibility: Only low- and moderate-income households qualify this year.

Who’s First in Line?

Once inspections are complete, grants are released in four waves, each two weeks apart:

  1. Low-income, age 60+
  2. Low-income, all ages
  3. Moderate-income, age 60+
  4. Moderate-income, all ages

After those groups receive funding, a final application window opens (low → moderate, 60+ → all ages) for anyone who hasn’t applied yet.

Requirements for the My Safe Florida Home Program
